The online webinar was held on March 24, 2021, by Taiwan Trade Center, Chicago. The Director General of the Chicago Economic and Cultural Office, Johnson Chiang was invited to give a welcoming remark, as well as one US Congressman and some state government representatives to give speeches. The individuals who presented full presentations at the webinar include Stuart Green of Taiwan Trade Center, Chicago who spoke about the 2021 Food Taipei and Agriculture Shows in Taiwan, Dave Shogren, president of US International Foods shares who shared his Selling Experience at Taipei International Food Show, Ron Tanner, President of Tanner Groups talked about the Trends in the U.S. Specialty food industry in the post-epidemic era. Paul Weiss, Liaison Manager of the Food Export Association of the Midwest USA, introduced that the association provides a Subsidy of up to 50% of the expenses for overseas exhibitions to farmers, industry associations and food producers in the US food industry as well as related promotion services.
The Kaohsiung International Food Show, the Kaohsiung International Hotel, Restaurant, Baking and Catering Show (Kaohsiung HORECA) and the Kaohsiung International Halal Expo (Kaohsiung HALAL) kicked off a four-day event at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center. The Kaohsiung trio shows, held as scheduled despite the pandemic, have not only presented the entire upstream and downstream of the food supply chain covering foods, manufacturing and peripheral equipment, but have also played an active role in developing markets covered by the government’s New Southbound Policy, the Middle East market and the halal market in southern Taiwan, serving as the food industry’s most important annual food sourcing platform in southern Taiwan. With consumption momentum amassed in the first half of the year, the shows have attracted over 18,000 professional buyers and visitors.
