According to the latest statistics on Taiwan’s imports and exports released by the Ministry of Finance, the export value in September 2021 reached US$39.65 billion, setting a new historical record with a growth of 29.2% over the same month last year. In addition, the monthly export value of electronic components and communication equipment simultaneously set a record high in a single month. With the improving international economic environment, the raw material market continues to surge. Furthermore, with the help of technological innovations, new consumer products, and wafer product prices increase, allowing Taiwan’s export value to continue creating outstanding results.

In the post-pandemic era, the global ICT industry has been overturned. The applications of 5G, AIoT, and HPC (high-performance computing) technology highlighted the industrial position of the semiconductor industry. In terms of the developmental trend of the technology industry in 2022, the five driving forces of business opportunities in 5G, iPhone, artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and electric vehicles, are expected to earn an industry profit of compound annual growth rate of 23% from 2020 to 2023.

The traditional electronics industry is riding the upsurge of digital transformation, breaking through the previous one-way linear operations, and combining emerging technologies such as big data, the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, and 5G edge computing to improve the efficiency and development of the industry. In addition, the "zero-touch" industry that emerged to "maintain social distancing" has dramatically increased the demand for remote work, education, medical care, and commercial applications and has become the new normal for future life.

The outbreak of the pandemic has also caused humanity to reflect on nature. In this regard, major global ICT companies have begun to pay attention to the sustainable development of industries and the environment. Major companies such as TSMC, Delta, UMC, Asus, and Acer have announced "RE100" (committing to achieve 100% renewable energy use between 2020 and 2050) and zero carbon emissions goals. One hundred thirty-one countries around the world have joined the "2050 net-zero carbon emissions". How will Taiwan react to such a challenge of net-zero transition? And how will it continue to maintain the country's competitive advantage?

With the acceleration of the two popular technologies of AI and 5G, the Internet of Things (IoT) has gradually moved towards a deeper AIoT development. Combining the characteristics of artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things, giving the "Internet of Things" terminal devices more perception and cognitive "wisdom", it helps humans develop a friendlier and more convenient society and environment. However, the network also has quite smart terminal equipment, and its information security will be one of the key issues for the sound development of AIoT. This seminar will start with the trend of industrial information security standards to understand the current status and development of industrial information security standards at home and abroad. By communicating needs and solutions with information security professionals and AIoT field owners, it is expected to improve the level of information security protection and become a safe, smart IoT system.
